A Love Story of Classical English Architecture With the Alluring Charm of Asia
The vision was to create Asia’s first English estate; a timeless Georgian mansion thoughtfully designed for life in the tropics, where classical European architecture exists in quiet harmony with Phuket’s natural landscape.
Drawing upon the owner’s first-hand experience of creating a landmark Georgian residence in London, and in collaboration with a distinguished London architect, construction began in 2015. After eight years of meticulous craftsmanship, unwavering dedication, and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence, The Vanderbilt Estate was brought to life.
Throughout the Mansion, antique teak floorboards, hand-crafted terracotta tiles, natural linens, bespoke furnishings, and an exceptional collection of antiques and artworks come together with remarkable restraint. Every room has been carefully composed, each object thoughtfully placed, creating interiors rich in history, artistry, and timeless elegance.
Art Collection
The Vanderbilt Estate houses an exceptional private collection assembled by the owner over more than sixty years, including rare antiquities dating back to the 1st century BC. Each piece has been carefully selected, lending the Estate a depth of history and character rarely found within a private residence.
Courtyard
The arrival courtyard offers a graceful introduction to the Estate, setting the tone for the experience that unfolds beyond.
Main Hall
The Main Hall is defined by its magnificent nine-metre cupola, flooding the space with natural light and creating an immediate sense of scale. Marble sculptures, fine antiques, paintings, and carefully curated works of art establish the Mansion’s timeless character from the moment of arrival.
Drawing Room
Designed for conversation and quiet relaxation, the Drawing Room is furnished with comfortable seating and surrounded by an ever-changing collection of antiques, paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects gathered from around the world.
Library
Warm, intimate, and richly detailed, the Library features a vaulted ceiling, an elegant fireplace, and an extensive collection of antiques and works of art. It is a peaceful retreat for reading, reflection, or simply enjoying the atmosphere.
Dining Room
One of the Estate’s most remarkable interiors, the Dining Room is enveloped by an extraordinary 350-year-old hand-painted Qing Dynasty wallpaper. A Chinoiserie fireplace, antique brass-inlaid dining table, and carefully curated Asian artworks create an unforgettable setting for both intimate dinners and formal occasions.
Kitchen
Designed in collaboration with a Michelin-trained chef, the professional kitchen is equipped to deliver everything from intimate private dining to elegant banquets, supported by generous preparation areas together with walk-in refrigeration and freezer facilities.
Verandah
Stretching across 300 square metres, the covered verandah overlooks the Estate’s gardens, lake, and surrounding mountains. Throughout the day it becomes a natural gathering place; whether for breakfast, afternoon tea, sunset cocktails, or relaxed conversation.
Upper Floor
The upper floor offers a collection of elegant private suites together with peaceful sitting areas overlooking the Estate’s gardens, providing both comfort and privacy for resident guests.
Garden Lounge
Inspired by classical Greek architecture, the Garden Lounge is an inviting family space designed for relaxation, conversation, board games, and quiet evenings together.
Cheese & Wine Room
Two temperature-controlled cabinets house a carefully curated selection of fine wines and artisan cheeses, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy relaxed tastings throughout their stay.
Music Room
Designed for both entertainment and relaxation, the Music Room features a stage, dance floor, comfortable lounge seating, and high tables for gathering. Whether enjoying live music, celebrating with family and friends, or simply unwinding in a relaxed setting, it offers a versatile space at the heart of the Estate.
Home Theatre
Located on the lower ground floor, the private Home Theatre provides a comfortable setting for film nights, sporting events, and shared viewing experiences, offering guests another inviting space to relax throughout their stay.
Gym
The Estate offers a private fitness studio equipped with essential cardio and strength-training equipment, allowing guests to maintain their wellness routine while enjoying the tranquillity of the Estate.
